Privacy Policy

The short version
- Browsing this site is anonymous. We measure page views and clicks in aggregate.
- We only collect personal information you choose to give us — for example, when you look up a home, ask to be matched with an agent, create an account, or claim a profile.
- We share your information with the professionals you ask to be connected with, and with the service providers that run the site — we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA).
- Agent profile pages display professional, public-record information about licensed real estate professionals, with a correction process.
What we collect, and where it comes from
- Usage data (from your browser): pages viewed, referrer, device type, approximate region, and interaction events. Used in aggregate to operate and improve the site.
- Identifiers and contact details (from you): name and email if you create an account or request a match; phone number only if you choose to provide it.
- Property and finance details (from you and from public records): the address you look up, and answers you give in our questionnaires — for example your timeline, goals, or a mortgage-balance correction — used to produce your estimate and, at your direction, to match you with professionals.
- Public-record and licensing data (from government and public sources): recorded home sales, ownership records, and state license data that power our statistics and estimates.
- Sign-in data (from Google or Apple, if you choose them): your email and name from the provider. We never see your password.
How we use it
- To provide what you asked for: home-value reports, saved reports, agent matches, profile claims, and account features.
- To send transactional email you triggered (sign-in links and codes, report links, match updates). Marketing email is sent only with consent and always has an unsubscribe link.
- To operate, secure, rate-limit, and improve the site.
- To comply with law and enforce our terms.
When we share it
- At your direction: when you ask to be introduced to an agent or other professional, we share the information you submitted with the professionals you chose — that's the product working, not a background data sale.
- Service providers: hosting, database, email delivery, and analytics vendors that process data on our behalf under contract, only as needed to run the site.
- Legal: if required by law, or to protect the site and its users from fraud or abuse.
Cookies and analytics
We use first-party cookies for sign-in sessions and site function, and first-party analytics events to understand aggregate usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers. Because we don't share data for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is nothing to opt out of via Global Privacy Control, though we honor the signal's intent.
Agent profile information
Profiles of licensed real estate professionals are compiled from public records of closed home sales, state licensing data, and agents' own public marketing materials. Publishing truthful, public-record information about licensed professionals is lawful, and information lawfully made available from government records is generally outside the CCPA's definition of personal information. If something on your profile is wrong, use the correction process or email support@optionhomes.com and we will investigate and fix verified errors.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents may request: to know what personal information we hold about them; deletion; correction; and confirmation that we do not sell or share personal information as the CPRA defines those terms. We honor requests without discrimination. Submit requests to support@optionhomes.com from the email address on your account (or with enough detail for us to verify you); we respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent with written permission.
Retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose you gave it to us (accounts: while active; match requests: through the introduction and a reasonable follow-up window; analytics: aggregate), then delete or de-identify it. Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted, and vendor access is scoped to its job.
Children
The site is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update the date above; material changes will be flagged on the site. Questions any time: support@optionhomes.com.
